Learning awards
Adult Learners' Week Awards recognise the remarkable learning journeys of outstanding adults. Award winners can be powerful advocates and inspirational role models, both inside and outside of their organisation.
Nominating colleagues for an Adult Learners' Week Award celebrates their achievements and promotes the benefits of learning for work and personal development. The Awards often generate media interest in winners' stories which may in turn raise the profile of their organisation.
Outstanding individuals, groups, projects and families, can be nominated for Adult Learners' Week Awards. There are also special Learning Works Awards that recognise those individuals who learn through, or for work.
For 2010, there are a series of special Award categories:
- the European Social Fund (ESF) Awards will celebrate individuals, groups and projects that have learnt with support from the ESF
- the Digital Participation Award (sponsored by BBC) celebrates learning where the use of new technology has been central;
- the Power of Reading Award (sponsored by Booktrust) celebrates learning where reading or writing has inspired an outstanding learning journey; and
- the Outstanding Achievement Award (sponsored by the National Open College Network) will recognise outstanding learning on an OCN programme; and
- the European Social Fund (ESF) Awards will celebrate individuals, groups and projects that have learnt with support from the ESF;
- the Foundation Degree Award (sponsored by fdf) will recognise and celebrate an outstanding adult learner on a foundation degree programme
- the Intergenerational Award (sponsored by MLA) rewards learning across generations in the Museums, Libraries and Archives sector.
It has never been easier to nominate someone for their remarkable learning journey.
