Apprentice awards

Nominations for the Adult Learners’ Week Apprentice Awards 2014 are now closed!

The chance to nominate for the Adult Learners’ Week Awards may be over, but it’s still not too late to join in with the festivities for 2014. There are lots of opportunities for your organisation to recognise and celebrate the many benefits of lifelong learning. You can take part in our Festival of Learning starting in May. This will lead up to Adult Learners’ Week itself which takes place from 14-20 June. Check out events in your local area, find out how to get involved and download marketing materials.

Join our Adult Learners’ Week Network to receive updates about next year’s Adult Learners’ Week and how to nominate remarkable people, projects and organisations for the awards in 2015.

If you would like more information about how your organisation can get involved with Adult Learners’ Week or you would like to discuss partnership opportunities, please email the Adult Learners’ Week Team at [email protected]

There are a range of categories that Apprentice award nominations may be eligible for.

European Social Fund (ESF) Individual Award

This award recognises the impact that ESF-funded learning opportunities have had on individual learning achievements.

European Social Fund (ESF) Young Adult Learner Award

This award recognises the impact that ESF-funded learning opportunities have had on the learning achievements of young adults (aged 18-25 on 30 January 2014).

Learning with Family or Community Award

For individuals who have undertaken Apprenticeships in community settings or can demonstrate the impact of their Apprenticeship on their family or local community.

Learning Life Skills Award

Every Apprenticeship must include English, maths, employability and occupational skills training and it is the impact of this training specifically which is the focus of the Life Skills award for Apprentices.

Learning for Work Award

For individuals who have improved their prospects in their current job, or have secured a new role or Apprenticeship, business or career as a result of their learning.

Young Adult Learner Award (supported by the Edge Foundation)

For individuals aged 18 -25 on 30 January 2014.

Senior Learner Award

For individuals who would like to be considered for this award.

In previous years the Senior Learner Award was defined by age. However, we feel it is important for the nominee to determine whether they want to be considered for this award. We do not want to disqualify people on the basis of age but are conscious that individuals will view the term 'Senior' differently. This is a conversation the nominator and nominee can have before they submit the nomination.

Nominations for Adult Learners' Week 2014 will close on 30 January 2014 at 5:00pm.
