2012 Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
Adult Learners’ Week (England) 2012 Events Evaluation and New Horizons Magazine Prize Draw - Terms and Conditions
Adult Learners’ Week is coordinated by The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE).
Entering the Competition
1. By completing the events evaluation form, either paper or online, you are entering this Adult Learners’ Week 2012 prize draw.
2. Participants who have ticked on the registration form that they are happy to take part in a telephone survey will also be entered into a prize draw.
3. By completing the New Horizons Magazine Readers Survey, you are entering the prize draw.
4. By entering into the prize draw by any of the above means you agree that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
5. The closing date of the prize draw is 22 June 2012. Evaluations, participant forms and reader surveys received after this date will not be entered into the prize draw.
Eligibility
6. The prize draw is open for entry from 5pm on 18 May 2012 until 5pm on 22 June 2011 to:
- Adult Learners’ Week event holders who have submitted a completed evaluation.
- Participants of Adult Learners’ Week events who have ticked on the registration form to take part in a telephone survey.
- New Horizons Magazine readers who complete the Reader Survey.
7. Only one entry per event / participant / reader will be permitted for the prize draw.
8. The prize draw is open to Adult Learners’ Week event holders, participants and New Horizon Magazine readers in England only.
9. NIACE reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
The Prize
10. There are three prizes to be won, consisting of:
- 1 x electronic tablet or a £200 voucher/gift card to spend at a well known ticket agent - for Adult Learners’ Week Event Holders (England Only)
- 1 x electronic tablet or a £200 voucher/gift card to spend at a well known ticket agent - for Adult Learners’ Week Event Participants (England Only) who agree to take part in a telephone survey
- 1 x electronic tablet or a £200 voucher/gift card to spend at a well known ticket agent - for New Horizons Magazine readers (England Only) who complete the reader survey
11. Winners who choose the £200 voucher / gift card can select any event from that agent's listing. If this is chosen as an event holder prize it should be spent on you and colleagues from your organisation, participants and New Horizons Magazine readers can choose who they wish to take with them. If the winner wants to buy tickets worth more than £200, then they must make up the difference themselves.
12. It is the winners' responsibility to check for any expiry dates on the vouchers/gift cards.
13. The winner and their guests will be solely responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from the venue and for all other expenses. Travel, accommodation and meals are not included in the prize. NIACE assumes no responsibility and is not liable for any costs, charges or expenses which the winner may be required to pay at any time in connection with the prize. Any additional terms of entry specified by the venue will also apply.
14. It is the responsibility of the winner to pay any tax owed as a result of winning a prize.
15. NIACE will not be responsible for the inability of a prize winner to take up the specified prize.
16. The prize draw is not open to employees of NIACE, or their friends or family, or those of any associated companies.
17. The prize cannot be exchanged or transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other prizes.
18. In the event of unforeseen circumstances or circumstances outside our control, NIACE reserves the right to vary or withdraw any element of the prize or offer an alternative prize of equal value. No cash equivalent will be offered.
Picking the Winners
19. The winner(s) will be selected at random from all eligible entries received. Each winner will be notified within 28 days after the draw date either by email, mail or telephone.
20. The prize is awarded conditionally upon acceptance and if a winner is unable to be contacted after a reasonable period or if any prize is unclaimed or declined within a reasonable period, the prize shall be deemed as unclaimed or unaccepted and a supplementary winner may be drawn at NIACE's discretion.
Use of Collected Data
21. Any personal data relating to you will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and in accordance with NIACE’s Privacy Policy.
22. You will retain legal ownership of your information obtained through the evaluation and registration forms but you grant NIACE the right to use your information for the purpose of:
i. Identifying you as the author of your prize draw entry
ii. Contacting you (if you are a participant) for a telephone survey about the impact of Adult Learners’ Week
iii. Contacting you for the purpose of promoting Adult Learners’ Week
iv. Informing you of promotional offers being carried out by NIACE
23. NIACE shall not sell or commercially exploit your information and you can opt out of receiving any communication or promotional offers from NIACE at any time.
Additional Rules
24. By entering this prize draw and taking part in the activities forming the prize you agree to take part in or co-operate with a reasonable amount of publicity or other promotional activity.
25. The winner of the prize agrees for NIACE to use their name and organisation in any print or web-based publicity material.
26. NIACE takes no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of entry is not proof of receipt.
27. NIACE reserves the right to disqualify, without liability, any entrant if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the entrant has breached any of the Rules.
28. The names of the winner(s) may be obtained by sending a signed handwritten request along with a stamped self-addressed envelope detailing your request to the Adult Learners’ Week Team, 21 De Montfort Street, Leicester, LE1 7GE, and marked with the name of the Prize Draw.
29. The promoter of this Prize Draw is NIACE, Renaissance House, 20 Princess Road West, Leicester LE1 6TP.
30. NIACE reserve the right to amend or withdraw this prize draw at any time without notice.
