Morning Sessions: Estuary and river wildlife of Suffolk: the wide range of river and other habitats of Suffolk, including the Stour Estuary and the Rivers Alde and Deben in mid-Suffolk, including an in-depth look at the wide range of wildlife found around these habitats and the current river and estuary defence works put in place to protect local river meadows. Afternoon session: A year in the wildlife of the Suffolk coasts and heathland: a typical year in the wildlife of coastal habitats of Suffolk and the open stretches of heathland which are a haven for wildlife. The areas covered include Snape Maltings, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath NT, Orford Ness NT and the area on the Norfolk/Suffolk border known as 'The Brecks'. Tutor: Alex Bass, well-known local expert. Aimed at all adults interested in the natural history of the area, wishing to learn more.
