Corruption is nothing new: from James Gillray to Tony Blair's Demonic Gaze

Description

Join Alice Roberts for a talk inspired by our Picturing Politics Changing Exhibition. She will examine the disparity between the glossy promise of the election poster and the reality for the electorate. From the eighteenth century satire of James Gillray to the recent phone hacking and expenses scandals, a history of duplicity and subterfuge will be illustrated with images from the exhibition and the museum’s collection.
